Concept Design, Testing and Validation
Cresstec engaged EPES at the inception of a new technology idea that centred around reducing power use in a conventional vapour-compression system. Vapour compression systems are commonplace in today’s society, being used extensively in air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
Our role was to provide technical support, validation testing, product design, and ongoing analysis of data generated in the REED Test Facility in Sydney NSW.

We performed comprehensive research and analysis to evaluate energy efficiency benefits and real-world constraints for the new technology.

1. Assistance with CSIRO independent testing
2. Presentation of test data in reports
3. Technical proof of concept definition
4. Technical support alongside Patent Attorneys to define and secure IP
5. Technical support with electronics designers
The use of air conditioning and refrigeration systems throughout the world is unprecedented and the accompanying energy use creates a significant opportunity to make enormous savings. This technology is targeted at reducing energy use in these systems.
Analysis and Implementation
Initially designing a purpose-built calorimeter test facility and vapour-compression test rigs, continual testing and engineering support has been provided over a period of years to develop the product and quantify energy savings. Data production and analysis has been at the centre of the works to demonstrate repeatable results.
The objective of the testing has been to validate the concept design to enable a commercialisation prototype to be developed. This is ongoing.
